Nippon Express Vietnam Co., Ltd. (“NE Vietnam”; Masakazu Shirai, President), a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Kenji Watanabe, President), held a ceremony on July 12 to mark the opening of the multifunctional Song Than Logistics Center in Song Than Industrial Zone II, situated in Binh Duong Province outside Ho Chi Minh City. The opening ceremony was attended by more than 100 guests, including Mr. Harumitsu Hida, Consul-General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as Mr. Sakae Uematsu, Director and Managing Officer, and Mr. Shuji Kojima, Managing Officer, from Nippon Express Co., Ltd.

The new Song Than Logistics Center features a bonded warehouse and a general warehouse, both fully equipped with air conditioner and freezer units, as well as a warehouse exclusively for hazardous goods. A robust security system has been put in place, with an ID card authentication system in use at all entrances/exits, surveillance cameras and infrared intrusion detectors installed throughout the facility, and security personnel on-site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In addition to handling the import of parts/materials and DC/VMI operations for export goods, this Center will be actively involved in transporting and distributing goods to Vietnam’s expanding domestic market and in meeting customer needs for small-lot, high-mix shipments and distribution processing.

The Center’s location in the Song Than area is very convenient for transport purposes, lying a little over 20km from central Ho Chi Minh City, Cat Lai Port, and Tansonnhat International Airport and being extremely close to the industrial parks around Ho Chi Minh City that have drawn so many Japanese companies.
